I was going to ask if they use Folder Redirection with offline files enabled. Deleted the CSC folder and magically had room to breathe again. Disabled synchronizing network files for offline use (they're always connected to the server, these are desktop computers, not laptops that leave the premises!). The Windows\CSC folder was using half the drive space. After enabling system and hidden files I finally found the culprit. I've run across this a few times on computers that have had several different network users over time, couldn't see what was eating up all the drive space.
